6th Partner Meeting in Cork, Ireland from March 11-12, 2026

For the 6th time the FlashFloodBreaker Partnership gathers in their regular project working group (PWG) meeting.

This time our Partners from Munster Technological University (MTU) invite the partners to  Cork on 11th and 12th March 2026. The PWG is open to the partners (PPs) and associated organisations (AOs) of the project. 

This PWG meeting aims to progress on the joint implementation of selected activities and to prepare deliverables.

Part of the meeting schedule will be as well a EXCURSION TO THE TOWN OF MIDLETON, CO. CORK.

The town of Midleton in East Cork and the River Owenacurra suffered an extreme flash flood event as a result of Storm Babet on the 18th October, 2023 which brought torrential rainfall to the south of Ireland with over 100mm of rainfall experienced over a two-day period. Extensive flooding occurred impacting many homes and businesses with damage estimated at in excess of €100 million. Locations in Midleton where the flooding impacts were experienced will be visited by the FlashFloodBreaker team.
