To jointly address the challenges of water-based emergency operations, the FlashFloodBreaker partnership identifies the need to get trained across borders on providing assistance in this hostile environment. The Fire and Rescue service of the Moselle department (SDIS 57), specialized in water rescue training, invites water rescue organisations from North-West Europe to train among international teams in real conditions on the Île of Saulcy, Metz, on 25 September 2026.
Special Rescue training
designed for Aquatic rescue swimmers (SAV) and
light autonomous divers (SAL)
The participants will have the possibility to take part in 4 distinct workshops:
Workshop # 1
Rescue a person who has fallen into a slow-flowing river using specific equipment, such as a boat.
Workshop # 2
Rescue a person who has fallen into a fast-flowing river
Workshop # 3
Rescue a person
trapped inside a vehicle in the middle of a fast-flowing river
Workshop # 4
Rescue several persons on the roof of a vehicle in the middle of a fast-flowing river
The specific rescue materials brought by the international teams will also be showcased

The water rescue teams are expected to arrive at the practise field on 25 September 2026 at 8:30 a.m. at : Cité Universitaire, 57000 METZ, FRANCE.
