As part of the Cloudburst Exercise that has been rolled out by the dutch Waterschap Hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden, the FlashFloodBreaker partnership had the unique opportunity to take part in a two-day training activities.

Different techniques, new learnings
This included the implementation and rolling out of several mobile barrier systems, that were deployed on an area where near-real conditions could be tested. Therefore the participants and observers got instructed on how to set up the different barrier systems together.
Afterwards these elements were connected to each other and a basin that has been filled with water meanwhile, was emptied into the space created.
Then the Partners and Observers could stress test the material and exchange their experience and observations with members of other partner organizations, the water boards, the fire and rescue brigades and the military.
